Accountability, Uniformity and Time Management
Accountability doesn't just mean showing up on time. It means responsibility. It means that if i fail my small part of the mission (to be on time), i must be held liable for my failure. Accountability also reflects the responsibility the unit has over each and every person in the unit. Everyone is required to report for duty so that the commander can verify that he/she has all the unit personnel accounted for.If i don't show up and nobody notices, the commander reports 100% accountability, but no one notices that i am not physically accounted for, they may find me some time later and be uncertain of what to think because they did not know i was not physically present, which puts the unit and the unit commander at risk for some evasive action. if there are times that i must be late then i should inform someone so that i can be accounted for. Which could also tie in with uniformity. What is the importance of uniformity, dress right dress, and discipline in the army? the importance of un iformity is to make everyone become and look equal. there are no differences between us, no separation because we are all a team. what is the point of uniformity, when a whole platoon is uniformed it shows accountability, responsibility, discipline and being in uniform is one of the things that is part of the foundation of the army. Without uniformity there cannot be discipline, and then it turns into a chain reaction and destroying the foundation of the army. being in uniformity shows soldiers how they can do things together and how working together, we as people can do anything we want to accomplish. it also teaches soldiers that uniformity also shows responsibility that when things are disorganized nothing ever gets done, but when there are no differences holding back from completing the mission anything can be done 110%. Everything needs discipline in order to be successful and uniformity, not only in dress code allows for working in harmony to get things done right and in a timely manner. Speaking of timeliness, personal time management skills are essential for professional success in any workplace. Those able to successfully implement time management strategies are able to control their workload rather than spend each day in a frenzy of activity reacting to crisis after crisis ââ¬â stress declines and personal productivity soars! These highly effective individuals are able to focus on the tasks with the greatest impact to them and to the organization, which help to make them more successful in the end then those who have poor time management skills. In writing this essay the importance and purpose of these three words have become clearer to me. We need accountability, uniformity and time management in everything we do in order to be successful and efficient in all things we undergo. Read also: Time Management

Human Rights Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words - 2
Human Rights - Essay Example Research by international human rights organizations have described the worst forms of labor abuse and dehumanization among low income earners like domestic and construction workers in the United Arab Emirates. For example, the worst form of exploitation is the ââ¬Å"Kafalaâ⬠sponsorship program that gives sponsors and employers authority to determine the immigrantsââ¬â¢ legal residence (Chalcraft, 2011). According to Sonnez, Apostolopoulos, Tran & Rentrope (2011), employers are given the authority to control migrant workers pay, living conditions, and ability to renew or terminate their contracts without regard to the countryââ¬â¢s labor laws. Another form of human right violation is debt bondage and confiscation of passports because migrant workers have been charged high recruitment fees by their home agencies. Violation comes in because the migrants are promised high salaries but on arrival they wages are too low ranging from $175 to $220 per month. A report by Human Rights Watch (2012) indicates that construction workers live in inhumane conditions, with eight to ten laborers sharing a room because of poverty and debt. For instance, they were expected to work for more than 12 hours per day with very few breaks even under extreme heat of the day (Exploited Workers Building Island of Happiness, 2009). The poor wages and increased cases of abuse thrive because of the political environment which has continuously ignored the need for establishing labor unions and enforcing legal action on abusers. Lack of labor unions limits migrantsââ¬â¢ choices, rights to expression, ability to seek justice and freedom to move from one employer to another equating the situation to modern day slavery. These limitations have led to increased cases of suicides among immigrants who find themselves in fixed inhumane environment. A 2009 police report indicated that 113 migrants committed suicide with the most victims coming from domestic and

Critically discuss the distinction between quality control and quality Essay
Critically discuss the distinction between quality control and quality assurance - Essay Example If the team identifies a problem in a product, it makes the quality control department stop the production of that product for the time being not only to make required changes in the product but also to ensure that the product meets the customersââ¬â¢ demands properly. ââ¬Å"Quality assurance is the process of verifying or determining whether products or services meet or exceed expectationsâ⬠(Kietzman 2011). It is a process-driven approach towards achieving quality which requires specific steps to identify and attain goals. Quality assurance exceeds the customer expectations through a measurable and accountable process. The quality assurance team examines and tests the product manufacturing process in order to ensure excellence in every stage of the process by identify the defects and taking appropriate steps to remove those defects. Quality control involves such actions that assess and evaluate the manufacturing process of a product, whereas quality assurance involves such activities which ensure adequacy of the product development and quality maintenance processes. Quality control team focuses on finding defects in a product in order to remove them.

Company Diversification Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Company Diversification - Essay Example à The business venture that the corporate managers decide on should be that can gain from the resources of the diversified company. The management can also invest in creating sustainable competitive strategies by developing chain relationships with other companies in the industry (Daft, et al, 2010). This will enable the company to enjoy from economies of chain relationships. Similarly, the company should also prioritize on the diversification chances available in the industry. One of the strategies that the organizations can take to diversify is through acquisition. This will help the company to enter the market quicker than other. It may decide to use internal startup or through a joint venture.Factors to consider for the diversification of the companyOne of the factors that the corporate managers should ask themselves is whether they understand the advantage competitive strength of cross-business strategy. This will help them to fathom how different strategic fits work in a comp any. Furthermore, it will help the company to do strength, weakness, opportunity and threat analysis of the business. The team manager should also ask themselves whether the organization is strong enough to take full part in the group venture. Similarly, the managers should also examine themselves whether they can afford to cope with the strategies that will thereafter be put in place. The management team also needs to prioritize diversification opportunities that are available in the industry (Daft, et al, 2010).

Paper on the social structural theories then break it down into the Research
On the social structural theories then break it down into the social disorganization theory, cultural deviance theory, and - Research Paper Example Cultural deviance theory asserts that conformity to the existing cultural norms of the society of a lower class results into crime. Youths or lower sub culture class has a set of unique beliefs and values, which are often in conflict invariably with the conventional norms of the society. Criminality in this aspect is the expression of non conformity to social norms or conformity to a lower class of sub cultural beliefs and values. Youth therefore commit crimes trying to respond to their own class of cultural norms in an attempt to deal with the social problems from middle class and adjustment. This theory is associated with labeling theory, the rationale for choosing it (labeling theory), in that they both address a particular class of society and their beliefs. According to labeling theory, the youths turn to a delinquent lifestyle and commit crimes when a good part of the members of society give them a label or associate them with such crimes and lifestyle, hence they accept such l abels as their own personal identity. As youth interact with others in the society throughout their lives, they are usually given various symbolic labels. These symbolic labels often imply different attitudes and behaviors, thus the labels do not only give a description of an individual trait, but also describe the whole person. A negative label often results into a permanent harm of the targeted persons, especially when a significant other confers such a devalued status on the person. Being perceived as a deviant in the society and/ or being associated with a delinquent lifestyle often impact on the treatment youths receive at work, at home, at school, and any other places of social interactions. Those labeled usually find themselves turning to other people who are equally stigmatized by a similar or related label for purposes of championship and support. Law is, in most cases, applied differently and benefits people who hold social and economic power, while the powerless are often penalized. Labeling theory therefore is not only concerned with why the persons engage originally in the acts that make them labeled, but also deeply concerned with the reasons for a criminal career is formation. The origin of acts of crimes is not specifically discussed by this theory (Samuel, 2007). An individual becomes a deviant majorly due to the social distance that exists between the labeled and the labeler. Labeling theory is associated with various effects on the people who are labeled; these are the reasons why youth find themselves turning into a delinquent lifestyle and commit most crimes. They do this with a belief that even if they remain within the law, the society still associates them with such deviances and delinquent lifestyle. Some of the impacts resulting from this theory include the following: Stigma creation: whenever an individual have a public record of acts of deviance, the denounced individual separates himself or herself virtually from a place of group b y a successful degradation ceremonies in a legitimate order. An impact on self image: the offenders who have been stigmatized may probably start reevaluating their own personal identities within the label Primary deviance: these are some crimes with very little effect or influence on the actor, such are easily and quickly

Assessment of the Environmental Impact of Electric Vehicles Coursework
Assessment of the Environmental Impact of Electric Vehicles - Coursework Example Conclusion 18 References 1. Introduction Electric vehicles have become a strong trend in the global market. The benefits of electric vehicles, as analyzed above, compared to the conventional vehicles are often used as a justification for promoting the use of these vehicles worldwide. In this context, the following problem appears: which would be the impact of replacing a conventional internal combustion engine vehicle with an electric vehicle capable of similar duty? The above issue is explored in this paper. The following condition is setâ⬠the platform of the vehicle remain the same. For the needs of this paper, an electric car has been chosen as the mode of the vehicle, the use of which will be modified. While exploring this issue it has been necessary to cover a series of other topics, such as the characteristics and the differences of electric vehicles compared to the conventional vehicles. ... In any case, conventional vehicles are more likely to cause severe environmental damages, even if the last years their environmental impact has been effectively controlled (Larminie and Lowry 2003, p.258), a fact that can be used for confronting the negative criticism against the conventional vehicles. It should be noted that the replacement of a conventional vehicle with an electric vehicle is not always unavoidable, since conventional vehicles can also promote sustainability, even at lower levels than the electric vehicles. However, if other benefits are targeted, then such replacement should be based on the rules and the processes presented below. 2. The Impact of Replacing a Conventional Internal Combustion Engine Vehicle with an Electric Vehicle Capable of Similar Duty 2.1 Electric vehicles ââ¬â Description and Characteristics Electric vehicles are those vehicles that are ââ¬Ëpropelled by one or more electric motors rather by an internal ââ¬â combustion engineââ¬â¢ (Faiz, Weaver and Walsh 1996, p.227). This is the key difference between the electric vehicles and the conventional vehicles, which are based on an internal combustion engine (Faiz, Weaver and Walsh 1996). The range of electric vehicles can be high; there are electric autos, motorcycles, trains and so on (Faiz, Weaver and Walsh 1996). In fact, any conventional vehicle can become electric under the terms that it is appropriately transformed following a particular process (Faiz, Weaver and Walsh 1996). In practice, there are three different types of electric vehicles: a) the electric vehicles that rely on an external generation system, i.e. a generation system which is not incorporated

Advanced IT Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Advanced IT - Research Paper Example In addition, biometric enrolment in most cases is carried out in-person under environments that are controlled making the process reliable in case of any succeeding application. The system however faces a number of challenges mostly non-trivial when it comes to security cases following its inherent biometric data features. Such features make biometric matching probabilistic thus samples from a given individual can never be exactly the same. This is a violation of security measures as two encrypted samples have to undergo decryption before any matching takes place. Biometric systems are unable to rely on one-ways systems performing user input harsh functions. The management is also challenged to ensure that there exists decryption and vulnerability representation in biometric processes (Abhilasha, 2007). Biometrics are almost impossible to change or revoke in cases where data has been compromised. This is because its template is in a digital data form and is mostly kept in a token or a database. Such templates come in specific vendors thus their interoperable use in a system that is disturbed becomes difficult. Biometric authentication systems represent a location that is unsupervised presenting the high risks of attacks from sensor spoofing. This makes the output credibility of the process of biometric matching to depend completely on the integrity of the given sample and whether the sample provided is a true one from the biometric characteristic owner. Security problems also come up during the execution of biometric templates either at the client or at the server. Other privacy and security risks are witnessed in the process of keeping biometric information together with identifiable information that are personal (Abhilasha, 2007). Biometric authentication systems play a crucial role in the identification process. It is more preferable compared to other non-biometric methods. Despite this age over the other methods, biometric systems face a number of
